Hoosick Falls Girl Scout Troop #1313 and three chaperones, spent five days in mid-August enjoying the sites of Washington, DC. This trip comes after three years of planning and fund raising efforts, so the young women were sure to fit in as much sightseeing as they could – covering many miles on foot and Metrorail. American Legion Auxiliary Unit 40 Meeting
The Hoosick Falls American Legion Auxiliary Unit 40 will hold its September meeting on September 3 at the Post on Main St. Refreshments are at 6 pm, and the meeting is at 6:30 pm.
Need Help To Quit Smoking?
The Center for Smoking Cessation at Seton Health offers a six week program to assist those who want to quit smoking. Programs are held at locations in Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Clifton Park and East Greenbush and will begin the week of September 14. For more information and registration, please call 518-459-2550.
TOPS Soccer For Little Kids
The Hoosick Falls Soccer Club has a new division this year called TOPS. This program is for three and four-year old kids and all children of any age with special needs. It will run each Saturday morning for eight weeks starting September 12. The fee is the same as the micro-league.

Brittany Pine Graduates From Hartwick College
Brittany Pine of Hoosick Falls, daughter of Margaret and Raymond Pine, has graduated from Hartwick College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Pine graduated Magna Cum Laude, with Departmental Distinction in Psychology and College Honors. She was also named to the Dean’s List last spring
At Hartwick, she participated in Student2student Peer Mentoring Program, Women’s Varsity Soccer, Honors Program and Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Pine is a graduate of Hoosick Falls Central School.
