Local Businesses Show Support for First Hoosick Pumpkinpalooza
Community support for the first Hoosick Pumpkinpalooza has been very strong, judging from the number of local businesses who have decided to sponsor the event. Most major sponsorship opportunities have been taken and additional support in the form of donations and volunteers continues to be received daily. The festival is being planned for the weekend of September 26.

Victoria Niles Named To President’s List At SVC
Victoria Niles of Hoosick Falls has been named to the President’s List for the spring semester, 2009, at Southern Vermont College in Bennington, VT. The President’s List recognizes full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.8 during both fall and spring semesters.
Niles is majoring in Nursing. She is a graduate of Hoosick Falls Central High School. Niles is the daughter of Sharon and Robert Niles of Hoosick Falls.
Jaimi Shiland Tudor Gets Master’s From U Of Alabama
Jaimi Shiland Tudor of Hoosick Falls received her Master’s In Human Nutrition from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa on May 9, 2009. Mrs. Tudor is a 2003 graduate of SUNY Oneonta and was a member of the class of 1999 at Hoosick Falls Central School. She is currently employed at the North Adams Regional Hospital as a registered dietician.
Kristen B. Del Rosario Named To Dean’s List At Siena
Kristen B. Del Rosario, a sophomore at Siena College in Loudonville, NY, was been named to the Deans’ List for the Spring 2009 semester.
She majors in Accounting. Kristen is the daughter of Donald and Janice Del Rosario of Hoosick Falls.

State Of The Art Water Plant Is Worth It

Grumbling could be heard all over the Village of Hoosick Falls when homeowners and businesses recently received their water/sewer and waste pickup bills for the rest of 2009 and two thirds of 2010. The bills had increased again this year. And they will undoubtedly continue to increase. However, a tour of the new Water Treatment Plant on Waterworks Road is an eye opener when it comes to what it takes to provide quality water to Hoosick Falls residents.
