Burn With Extreme Caution

William H. Rifenburgh Jr., Hoosick Fire Department Chief, advises residents to use extreme caution with outdoor fires this spring “due to a lack of snow pack and the likelihood of a drier than normal spring. Additionally, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s Regulation Part 215 prohibits open burning from March 15 through May 15 of each year,” he said.

Hoosick Wrangles Over Armory

At the start of the special Hoosick Town Board meeting on Wednesday, February 29, Town Supervisor Keith Cipperly announced to the crowd of almost 50 people that he wanted to keep the armory open as much as anyone else. “We’re all on the same page,” he said.
