Richard McNally, former partner in the respected law firm of Holbrook, Johnson, McNally and Tate in Hoosick Falls, is seeking his second term as Rensselaer County DA. Over the past four years McNally has brought leadership and professionalism to the DA’s office and has made the Criminal Justice System in this County work for all.

Hoosick Republican Candidates

A Republican caucus for the purpose of selecting candidates to run in the November election for the Town of Hoosick was held on Thursday, September 15. Nominated and unanimously voted to run on the Republican line are Keith Cipperly, Town Supervisor, Mark Surdam, Town Council, Bruce Patire, Town Council, and Richard Whalen, Town Justice. They will join incumbent Jack Mahar, Sheriff, candidate Joel Abelove, District Attorney, and incumbent Chris Hummel, Surrogate Court Judge on the Republican line, Row B.

Ernest E. Niles Sr.

White Creek – Ernest E. Niles Sr., 72, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. He had resided on County Rt. 68 in White Creek, NY.
Born on February 27, 1939, in Kingsbury, NY, Ernest was the son of the late Harold W. and Carrie (Olden) Niles Sr. He attended schools in the Kingsbury area. Ernest worked for the Construction Union in Troy, NY, retiring after twenty years. He then worked for the Town of Jackson Highway Department and later the White Creek Highway Department until retiring from there. Ernest enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, woodworking and traveling.

Hoosick – Charles W. Williams, 99, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center in Hoosick Falls, NY, where he had resided the past three years.
Born on September 19, 1912, he was the son of Andrew L. and Elizabeth (McGee) Williams. He was raised by George and Katherine Schuster from the age of five.

Hoosick Democrats To Host Spaghetti Dinner

The Town of Hoosick Democratic Party will be hosting a spaghetti dinner on Friday, September 30, at the Polish Hall from 5 to 7:30 pm. This will give the public an opportunity to meet the Democratic candidates for the upcoming November 8 election.
The Democratic candidates are Laura Reynolds for Town Supervisor, Bob Ryan and Marie O’Neil for Town Council and Richard Whalen  for Town Justice.

Hoosick Grange News

Hoosick Grange met on September 8 at Center Brunswick Grange. It was installation of Center Brunswick Grange and Hoosick Grange. It was a great meeting with over 50 Grangers present. The Albany County Installation Team with Master Robert Payne did the installing of the Grangers. The New York State Master, Mr. Stephen Coye, was there and was pianist for the evening.
