The St. Stanislaw Society Supports The St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The St. Stanislaw Society of Hoosick Falls presented a check on Saturday to the Hoosick Falls St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Patricia Lamb Receives The Rosekrans 4-H Memorial Award

Patricia Lamb, son of Chris and Terry Lamb of Buskirk, was selected as the Helen Rosekrans 4-H Memorial Award recipient.  Patricia is a 4-H member of the Country Bumpkins 4-H Club, was the 2009-10 Rensselaer County Dairy Princess, is a graduate of the Cornell Junior Dairy Lead Program and has competed at the District and State Level for 4-H Dairy Bowl.  [Read more…] about Patricia Lamb Receives The Rosekrans 4-H Memorial Award

“Ladies Night Out” At The Youth Center

The Hoosick Area Youth Center and Community Coalition (HAYC3) is pleased to announce the return of “Ladies Night Out” on Friday, February 18. This event for adult women in the area features a wide array of vendors, spa services, light refreshments and terrific door prizes. Doors open at 5 pm.

HACA Free Tax Service Opens

The Hoosick Area Church Association (HACA), for the seventh year, is offering free assistance to the public in preparing income tax returns through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance or VITA program. The VITA site will be located at the HACA Center at 26 John Street, Hoosick Falls, the former home of the Falls Federal Credit Union. The service is provided by IRS certified VITA/TCE volunteer preparers.

William F. Cipperly

Hoosick – William F. “Ike” Cipperly Sr., 93, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2011, at the Centers for Living & Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT. He had resided on William Cipperly Road in Breese Hollow, Hoosick, NY. He was the husband of the late Pauline (Gelinas) Cipperly, who died on March 1, 1982. William and Pauline were married in Toms River, NJ, in 1943.

Edward E. LeBarron

Hoosick – Edward E. LeBarron, 72, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy, NY. He had resided in Clifton Park, NY, with his wife Uma (Gomes) LeBarron.
Edward was born on August 14, 1938, at the family residence in Potter Hill, Hoosick, NY. He was the son of the late Leverette and Margaret (Prentess) LeBarron. Edward attended schools in the Town of Hoosick until entering the United States Air Force in 1955. He served until 1959. Edward has been retired for several years.

Sherman W. Herrington

Hoosick – Sherman W. Herrington, 81, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011, at the St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY. He had resided on Wilson Hill Road in Hoosick, NY, with his wife Marjorie (Pine) Herrington. Sherm loved his wife Marjorie, his wife of 60 years, as celebrated on September 9, 2010, with all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
