The Johnsonville Rescue Squad Breakfast

The Johnsonville Rescue Squad located at 4 River Road in Johnsonville will be having its monthly breakfast on Sunday, February 6. The menu consists of pancakes, French toast, eggs, hash browns, omelets, sausage, toast, fruit, juice and coffee. Hours are 7:30 to 11:30 am. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children 5-12. William Carter Sparks

East Hoosick – William Carter “Butch” Sparks, 78, passed away after a long battle with cancer, on Sunday, January 16, 2011, at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bennington, VT. He had resided on Ore Bed Road in East Hoosick, NY, with his beloved wife Patricia (Barnes) Sparks. They were married on June 11, 1960.

Hoosick Town Board Action – January 2011

Snow was the first topic of the Town of Hoosick Board meeting on Monday, January 10. The Town received a thank you from the Village of Hoosick Falls for the whole day of snow cleanup help received from the Town Highway Dept. HFCS was appreciative of the help from Board Member Louis Schmigel when it came to helping clean up snow at the school.

Weir Trust Benefits Hoosick Organizations

Representatives from Hoosick area organizations made their way through several inches of snow Saturday, January 8, to the Cheney Library to receive checks from the Harry Weir Charitable Trust. Local Girl Scouts Help Extend Thrift Shop Hours

In December 2010, Girl Scouts from local Service Unit #155, hosted a clothing drive to collect clothes and accessories for the local thrift shop. The clothing drive was such a huge success – with hundreds of new and like-new clothing and accessories for adults and children donated – the Girl Scouts wanted to make sure the items found their way to those who needed them most.
