Hoosick – Eleanor M. Stempek, 85, lifelong resident of Clay Hill, Hoosick, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 28, 2010, in Hoosick after a brief illness. She had resided on Brud Way with her daughter Ellen and husband Thomas Scott. Eleanor was the wife of the late John J. Stempek, who died twenty years ago.

The weekend of events memorializing legendary coach and educator Ken Baker and supporting the Coach Ken Baker Memorial Scholarship Fund culminated with a brief dedication ceremony at the Town Athletic Fields on Sunday, June 13. Hoosick Town Councilman Bob Ryan, Town Supervisor Keith Cipperly and Councilman Jeff Wysocki presented the Baker Family with a proclamation renaming the complex the Coach Ken Baker Athletic Fields. Baseball Camp
The “Good Old Country Hardball” Baseball Camp will once again be held at the Hoosick Little League Fields for those entering grades 3-8. The camp dates are July 5 through July 8, and the day runs from 9 am to 3 pm. LeBarron Family Reunion
The 78th Annual LeBarron Family Reunion will be held at Washington County Park’s Lake Lauderdale on Rt. 22 in the Town of Jackson on Sunday, July 18.
Lunch will be served at 12:30 pm sharp. A meeting will be held prior to lunch. Bring a meat to grill and a covered dish (hot or cold), the size of your family to share. Beverage will be provided. Bring photos and other memorabilia to share. Admission is two dollars per person (children under 6 years of age enter free). This includes swimming with a lifeguard on duty all day. There is an entrance fee of $1 per car.
