Inez Scaglione

Buskirk – Inez (Lockrow) Scaglione, 85, died peacefully on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Born on October 23, 1924, in Cambridge, NY. Inez was the daughter of the late Mary Mears and Myron Lockrow.  Inez grew up on the Lockrow family farm on Oak Hill Road in Cambridge, and she loved to drive by and reminisce about her childhood days.

Glen Timmerman

Vista, CA – Glen Timmerman, 54, passed away recently in California. He was the son of Peter and Doris (Lockrow) Timmerman of Buskirk, NY. He was born on May 10, 1956. Glen was employed as a warehouse worker for the US Food Service Company in CA. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid NY Giants fan.

Hoosick Grange News – June 2010

Hoosick Grange had a work meeting on June 23. Master David Cornell talked and had discussions on what’s going on in Albany and many other things.
The Lecturer had many different articles displayed on tables. The Grangers looked these over to get ideas for a fair booth. After much discussion they think they might have an idea they can use. The Lecturer had an original poem, titled “Spring Cleaning.”

Friday Nights At The Hoosick Area Youth Center

The Hoosick Area Youth Center & Community Coalition (HAYC3) is pleased to announce a series of Friday night events being offered to area youth this summer. All events are free to attend and are open to members and non-members of HAYC3. Events will take place at the Youth Center, 115 Church Street, Hoosick Falls, on Fridays, July 9 through August 13.

Saint Mary’s Academy Class Of 1960 Reunion

The Saint Mary’s Academy Class of 1960 will be celebrating its 50th reunion on July 10, 2010. The event will be held at the Powers Tavern, Sterup Square, Raymertown, NY, with cocktails at 5:30 pm and dinner at 7 pm. The class is expecting a large turnout.
On July 9 there will be an informal gathering at the Firehouse Restaurant in Hoosick Falls at 8 pm.
Also a Vigil Mass for the deceased members of the class will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church at 4 pm on July 10.

North Hoosick FD Kids Pool Dance

The North Hoosick Fire Department will be holding its Sixth Annual kids pool dance at the Town of Hoosick community pool on Barton Avenue in Hoosick Falls on Friday, July 9. Students in grades four through eight in area schools are invited to attend the festivities which will begin at 7 pm. Students will be able to swim until dark and then dance to music until 10:30 pm. Tickets for the dance can be purchased at the door on the day of the event. The inclement weather date is Friday, July 16. Parents must sign their child out after the dance.

Hoosick – Viola (Brenenstuhl) Brownell, 93, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center where she had resided since April. She was the wife of the late Paul C. Brownell, who died on August 7, 2009. They formerly resided in Cambridge, NY.
