Hoosick – Leona E. Goodermote, 86, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center. She had resided on Tory Hill Road, Potter Hill, Hoosick, NY, and was the wife of the late Earl R. Goodermote, who died in 1975.

Before closing the Hoosick Falls Village Board meeting Tuesday evening Mayor Laura Reynolds, on advice from Police Chief Robert Whalen, suggested residents be sure to lock their homes and cars in the future. Leaving cars and homes unlocked in small towns and villages has been a way of life for generations. The Mayor lamented the fact this is no longer advisable. According to Rensselaer County District Attorney Richard McNally the case against Dennis Murray of Bovie Hill Road, owner of Valley Hearth and Pellet, Inc. on Church St. has been adjourned until January 2009 to “give him an opportunity to satisfy his obligations.”
