Birding In New Lebanon And Environs

New Lebanon residents Danny and Clellie Lynch will present the program Birding in New Lebanon and Environs on Thursday, July 22, at 7 pm. The talk features slides and recordings of both familiar and less well known birds in our area and tips on where to find them and how to identify them.
For further information on this event, please call the New Lebanon Library at 518-794-8844. All are welcome, and the event is free. The library is located at 550 State Route 20, 1/4 mile north of the yellow blinking light at the intersection of Routes 20/22.

Lebanon Valley Farmers Market Celebrates Its Grand Opening On July Fourth

Come join friends and neighbors for a celebration of food and independence. Stop by to support the market and local agriculture,  listen to live music, enjoy the children’s’ tent and enjoy our areas bounty! Long-time residents should stop by at the history tent on the 4th to add your stories of local history and lore. The market is being held at Mid-Town Mall on Routes 22 & 20 in New Lebanon.
Schedule
10 am – A vine cutting opening ceremony with town officials.
10 am – Pygmy goat milking demonstration.
12 pm – Town Historian Kevin Fuerst speaks of the happenings in our Town at the original Declaration of Independence
1 pm – Ice cream social.

The New Lebanon Library announces the following July events:
Friday, July 9 – 6 to 7:45 pm – Coffeehouse Night – An evening of music with singer/songwriter Linda Worster. Light refreshments will be provided.
Wednesday, July 14 – 2 to 4 pm – Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Party. Shatford Park is the site for the Library’s summer reading program kick off party featuring the wonderful Dazzle Dogs! See the pups dance, fly over and through agility obstacles and perform stunts. Ice cream social to follow.

Mark Twain Summer Film Series

Lebanon Valley Women’s Club Officers

The Lebanon Valley Women’s Club installed officers on June 12 at the home of Lori Square. Mary DeFreest was installed as President, Ginger Delano as Vice President, Joyce Baum Recording Secretary, Georgette Tefoe Correspondence Secretary, Angela Rawson Membership/Publicist, Lori Square Treasurer and Betty Donnelly as Program Chair.
Ladies of the area are invited to join us at all our programs, starting in September. For more information on programs call Betty Donnelly.

New Lebanon Special Election On Town Hall Renovation Is June 29

On June 29, the Town of New Lebanon will decide whether it wants to approve the Town Hall renovation project. The referendum will be held from 12 to 9 pm at the Immaculate Conception Meeting Hall, which is located at 732 US Rt. 20. On June 28 there will be a public information meeting at 7 pm at the American Legion Hall. The referendum was originally scheduled for August.
