PS21 Presents Alicia Svigals’ Klezmer Fiddle Express

The world’s foremost klezmer fiddler, Alicia Svigals, brings her dazzling style of playing to PS21 in Chatham on Sunday, June 24, at 2 pm. The concert will include traditional klezmer tunes, Yiddish songs and some original and new music. The audience is encouraged to participate in the lively, expressive music by dancing, singing and clapping. “We’re the Jewish equivalent of a sizzling hoedown,” Svigals said.

Stephentown ZBA Sued Over Motocross

As he did two years ago, Lewis B. Oliver, Jr., attorney for residents seeking to block Howard Commander’s proposed Motocross park, has again filed an Article 78 proceeding against the Stephentown Zoning Board of Appeals. Oliver is challenging a decision the Board made in March in which, by a 3-2 vote following a public hearing, they rejected an appeal of the Code Enforcement Officer’s determination that no area variance would be needed for the project’s access road which is within 25 feet of a neighboring property.  [Read more…] about Stephentown ZBA Sued Over Motocross

New Lebanon Town Board Action – Town Hall Project Progressing Swiftly

Onward and downward goes New Lebanon’s new Town Hall. “If everything goes to plan we will be digging the trenches next week,” said Councilmember Bruce Baldwin at Tuesday’s monthly Town Board meeting. “It’s moving quite swiftly.”

New Farmer Narrative Project At The New Lebanon Library

Local Students To Graduate From TVHS

Students from Germantown to Schalmont, Hoosick Falls to Schoharie will walk down the aisle next week following four years of shaping the future of education.
The 28 students are members of Tech Valley High School’s second graduating class and have helped the school’s faculty and staff shape the future of education in the region and beyond.
The local TVHS students expected to graduate are Dallas Carr from New Lebanon, Corey Doughty from Berlin, John Hendricks II from Berlin and Nate Moseley from Hoosick Falls.

Olympic Runner Visits Walter B. Howard Elementary School

Rev Tor Solo At The New Lebanon Library
