Hancock VFD To Be Recognized

The Hancock Historical Commission’s 21st Annual Gathering will recognize the Town’s Volunteer Fire Department and its current and former members.
Come meet the firemen, see pictures from the archives, hear some gripping stories and rekindle memories of times gone by as we acknowledge the ingenuity, determination and dedication of this devoted group of volunteers.
The program will take place November 14 at 2 pm at the Hancock Central School on Rt. 43 in Hancock. All are invited to attend this event which is open to the public.

National Memory Screening Day

The Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center will be offering free, confidential, memory screenings to the public on Tuesday, November 16, from 10 am to 2 pm in recognition of National Memory Screening Day. National Memory Screening Day is an annual initiative of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America that emphasizes the importance of proper detection and treatment of memory problems and educates the public about successful aging and resources.
The Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center is located at 2 Blackberry Lane, 802-442-8525.

Grafton Fire Department Breakfast

The Grafton Volunteer Fire Department along with the Grafton Ladies Auxiliary will be holding an All You Can Eat Buffet Breakfast on Saturday, November 27, from 8 to 11 am at the Grafton VFW – Fire Hall on South Road (County Route 85). Belgian waffles, pancakes, French toast, eggs (made to order), bacon, sausage, home fries, toast, orange juice, coffee and milk are on the menu.  Cost is $8 per adult, $4 for kids 12 and under and kids 5 and under eat for free. We look forward to serving you!

Grafton – Elsie Marie Goyer, 81, of County Route 85, Grafton, NY, went home to be with our Lord on November 9, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Elsie was the wife of Harold, whom she married 60 years ago on August 5, 1950. She was the only child of Lois and Clinton Wagar who pre-deceased her.
