BBQ For CP

There will be a roadside chicken bbq to benefit CP at the Brunswick Elks, 665 Brunswick Rd., Eagle Mills, on May 25 from 11:30 am to 3 pm. Dinners include  chicken,  sides, dessert and beverage. Price is $10 adults, children under 10 – $5 ( chicken). Call Kim at 283-9806 for reservations.

Garfield Cemetery Assn. Meeting

The next meeting of the Garfield Cemetery Association will be on Thursday, May 21, at 6:30 pm at the cemetery. In case of inclement weather it will be held in Pierce Hall of the Stephentown Federated Church. All plot owners or their family members are invited to attend.

Tsatsawassa Fire Company Breakfast

The Tsatsawassa Protective Fire Company Inc. will hold it’s regular monthly breakfast on Sunday, May 17, from 8 am until noon at their firehouse behind the post office located near the intersection of Routes 20 and 66 north in Brainard.
Breakfast offers your choice of pancakes or French toast together with bacon or sausage, eggs cooked to your order, applesauce and assortment of breakfast beverages.

Giffy’s Chicken BBQ

The Town of Hoosick Republican Committee will host a Giffy’s Chicken BBQ on Thursday, May 21, serving from 4 to 6 pm at the Grand Union parking lot in Hoosick Falls. The menu will consist of a  baked chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, roll and cookie.
Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased from any Committee person or by calling 518-322-8685 or 686-5992.  There will be a very limited number of meals sold at the door, so please call in your reservation today.

Auditions For On Golden Pond

Auditions are being held June 1 and 2 with callbacks on June 4 for Ernest Thompson’s On Golden Pond to be presented by the award winning Circle Theatre Players.  Production will be held in mid-October. Auditions will take place at 7 pm at Sand Lake Center for the Arts, 2880 NY 43, Averill Park, NY.
The roles to be filled are a man and a woman 60+, two men and one woman, 30s-40s, and a male, 11-15 years old. For information, contact Director Joan Fuess 674-2154.

Star Party At Grafton Lakes

The Albany Area Amateur Astronomers will hold a free, public Star Watch on Saturday, May 16, at the Deerfield Pavilion of the Grafton Lakes State Park beginning at 8 pm, weather permitting.
Please use the winter entrance off North Long Pond Road. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour of the night sky and see Saturn through telescopes provided by the Albany Area Amateur Astronomers. The rings of the planet, Saturn, will become thinner in appearance throughout the summer. Come see them before they disappear completely on September 4. If it is very cloudy, the Star Watch will be cancelled. To inquire about cancellation, call Bernard Cognon at 658-9144 or Ray Bogucki at 658-3138.
