Anthony Bromirski

August 22, 2014 By eastwickpress

Hoosick Falls – On August 13, 2014, Anthony “Ski” Bromirski passed away at his home on 73 River Road in Hoosick Falls, NY. Anthony, “Joe the Clocker,” was surrounded by his family and friends while he was watching the horses run at Saratoga on his TV.

Anthony, the son of Anthony and Ameila Bromirski, was born on September 27, 1930. He graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy, he returned to Hoosick Falls. He spent a year sitting on the back porch of the Shea Farm on Bovie Hill Road in Hoosick, NY, trying to talk his way past Edward (Wiggy) Shea. Finally, he was able to get inside to the kitchen to court and marry his sweetheart, Rita (Shea) Bromirski.

Anthony, “Joe the Good Guy,” is survived by his beloved wife, Rita, and their four children, Mark and wife Jane, David and wife Bridget, Peter and wife Tracy and Judy and husband Mark. Anthony, “Grampy,” was also so very proud of his grandchildren, Shea, Elizabeth, Amelia, William, Ben and Stacia. Their exploits and games became the light of his later years. He would never miss a game, awards ceremony or concert! God bless those poor referees!

Anthony, “Tony,” is also survived by his youngest sibling, Joanne Cottrell. He is pre-deceased by his parents and his two brothers, Edward and John, “Mick.”

Anthony’s wake was on Friday, August 15, from 5 to 8 pm at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090. His funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, August 16, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls at 11 am.

All donations may be made to St. Mary’s Academy, in any of his many names, through the funeral home.
