Green Renewable, Inc., located in Berlin, announced recently that the Capital Region Economic Development Council (CREDC) has endorsed its Biomass Industrial Park and Clean Energy Distribution Center as a priority project to be considered for State funding. This project will help Green Renewable utilize bio-mass harvested from New York’s forests to manufacture and distribute a variety of agribusiness and renewable energy products, including fuel chips, kiln-dried firewood, landscape products and livestock bedding.

Troop 222 At The BSA Twin Rivers Fall Camporee

Troop 222 just attended the BSA Twin Rivers Council Fall Camporee at the Saratoga Spa State Park September 28-30. The boys competed in a decathlon of events that build character, team work and Scout skills.

On behalf of the Trustees of The New Lebanon Library, I wish to address some issues raised (Letters, September 28, 2012) about Library funding.
First, recognizing how vital the Library is to the life and the future of our community, the citizens of New Lebanon have voted – not once, but twice, in referendums in 2001 and again in 2007 – to fund the Library under a New York State 414 statute. Grafton Trail Riders Tradition Lives On
Thanks to the dedicated members and gracious landowners, the Over the Mountain Ride was a huge success the weekend of September 22 and 23, with over 85 people participating in the weekend events. It was open meeting night on September 26. Marion Hynick introduced Beth Cipperly from the Hoosick Rescue Squad. Beth pretended to burp and patted her chest and acted like she had indigestion. Petersburgh Fire Auxiliary Can Auction, Bake Sale/Tag Sale
The Petersburgh Fire Auxiliary will be holding its annual Can Auction, Bake Sale/Tag Sale on Saturday, October 6, from 9 am to 1 pm at the Fire House on Rt. 22.
Those who stop by will have the opportunity to win some wonderful items or gift certificates from local vendors for just $.25 a chance. There will be an amazing selection of home-baked pies, breads, cookies, etc. We will also have some very reasonably priced gently used treasures in our tag sale.
The Coast Guard At The Grafton Historical Society Meeting
The Grafton Historical Society’s October meeting will be held at the Grafton Town Hall on October 17 at 7 pm. Charles Poltenson, Flotilla Commander of United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla Crescent, will be providing an overview of the history of the United States Coast Guard and the history and role of the Auxiliary.

Brunswick Grange Tailgate Sale
On Sunday, October 7, Brunswick Grange will hold its Agricultural Tailgate Sale at the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds, Rt. 67 & 40, Schaghticoke, from 8 am to 12:30 pm. More than fifty vendors will have various varieties of chickens, ducks, geese, pigeons, vegetables, plants, flowers and other agricultural items. Absolutely no dogs, cats, puppies or kittens will be allowed for sale. A donation of $15 per vendor will be charged. The event will be held rain or shine, and refreshments will be available.
