The Dutch Church Is The Topic At The Taconic Valley Historical Society Meeting

In celebration of the 150th anniversary of The Dutch Church (Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church), Sharon Klein, Berlin Town Historian, will give a presentation at the June 18 meeting of the Taconic Valley Historical Society on the Church’s history and the families that settled West Mountain. Meetings are held at the Methodist Church, South Main Street, Berlin, on the third Monday of each month at 7:30 pm. The programs are free and open to the public.

Petersburgh Library News

Summer Reading Program
The Petersburgh Public Library has begun sign-up for the summer reading program for children, teens and adults. Everyone is invited to join the fun and read this summer. There will be prize baskets for adults and teens. Readers can enter the drawing once for every book read. Children are all winners if they read the required number of books or pages. Local author, Lori Szepelak, will discuss her spiritual journey which began in Hancock, MA, and led to the publication of her recently released book, An Angel On My Shoulder. She will also explain how all of us can experience our own journey with the angels that surround us. Her book chronicles her spiritual journey with angels. Lori is a photographer, public relations professional and writer. She lives in Western Massachusetts with her family. Light refreshments will be served.

Local Students To Graduate From TVHS

Students from Germantown to Schalmont, Hoosick Falls to Schoharie will walk down the aisle next week following four years of shaping the future of education.
The 28 students are members of Tech Valley High School’s second graduating class and have helped the school’s faculty and staff shape the future of education in the region and beyond.
The local TVHS students expected to graduate are Dallas Carr from New Lebanon, Corey Doughty from Berlin, John Hendricks II from Berlin and Nate Moseley from Hoosick Falls.

Stephentown – Theresa L. Hammersmith Williamson, 76, of Grange Hall Road, Stephentown, NY, died on Saturday, June 9, 2012, after being stricken at her home.
