Unstable Bridge Is A Danger In Grafton

Area Teams Enjoy Pittstown Sports Dome

About one half mile west of the Hoosick Town line on Route 7, in Pittstown, sits the Strong Brothers Sports Dome. The Dome is a 210 feet by 200 feet air-supported structure, formed of one or more layers of continuous flexible membranes and anchored to the ground so that a leak proof seal is constituted. HFFD Joining State-Wide Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment Effort

“Volunteers serve from three to five years, most times,” said Hoosick Falls Fire Chief Robert Bornt. “Then others serve for a lifetime.” Bornt is a life member of the Hoosick Falls Fire Department. Many of the members currently serving are life members – and they aren’t getting any younger. The problem is recruiting new members of any age to be firefighters. Rensselaer County Legislature – Tickets In Petersburgh

In an interview after the Rensselaer County Legislature’s session on Tuesday, District 5 Legislators Stan Brownell and Lester Goodermote reported that they had received complaints from their constituents about tickets being given by State Police to truckers on Route 22 at the Route 2 overpass in Petersburgh. District 5 includes the towns of Stephentown, Berlin, Grafton, Petersburgh, Hoosick and the Village of Hoosick Falls.

Kids Helping Kids

On Monday, April 2, members of the Hoosick Falls Kiwanis Club K-Kids presented HFCS Kindergarten teacher Sarah Fleming with a check for $50. The funds will be used to purchase helmets for Kindergarten students who participate in the class’s Trikeathon to benefit the Albany Medical Center’s Children’s Hospital.
