Petersburgh Library Gets Grant For McLean Project

The Petersburgh Public Library has just received a coveted Community Arts Grant from the Arts Center of the Capitol Region/New York State Council on the Arts, for a creative video and music project to be produced by two of Petersburgh’s resident composers/video artists, Barton and Priscilla McLean. This grant was supplemented by the Taconic Corporation, whose early support was crucial in the success of the Library’s grant application.

Local Restaurants Show Support For Taste Of Hoosick Food And Music Festival

Popular restaurants returning for the third annual Taste of Hoosick on May 6 at St. Mary’s Academy include Potters Tavern, Falls Diner, Eagle Bridge Inn, Subway and Pizza Bella. The Burial Place Of The New Lebanon Library’s Founder

Hoosick Falls Elementary School Accepting Universal Pre-Kindergarten Applications

The Hoosick Falls Central School District is currently looking for the Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) class of 2012-2013. UPK is a special program established by the State Education Department to provide an early learning experience for the children of eligible families. Eligible families are defined as those who live in the Hoosick Falls School District and have children who will be four years old on or before December 1, 2012.

SVFD Roast Beef Dinner

The annual Stephentown Vol. Fire Dept. Roast Beef Dinner is Saturday, April 21, from 4 to 7 pm at the Stephentown Fire Hall. The meal costs $10 for adult and take-out dinners, $7 for kids 6-10 and free for those under 6.

Lillis Bunce Memorial Award

Applications are being accepted for the Lillis Bunce Memorial Award. This $200 award is offered by the Grafton Community Library Board of Trustees in recognition of the lifetime community service of the late Lillis Bunce of Grafton. The purpose of this award is to encourage and reward the community service of our youth as demonstrated by the example Mrs. Bunce set throughout her life. Mrs. Bunce served faithfully and generously as a volunteer in many areas of her community such as the Library, her church, the Town, scouts and more.
