Why does the bluebird sing? Where does the brook trout like to swim? These and many other exciting questions will be answered during Grafton Lakes State Park Spring Break programs. The Trout Discovery and Stocking program is on April 10, Bluebirds with Bob is on April 13 and Habitat in a Jar will be offered on April 14.

ERC Warehouse Looking For New Location

The Eastern Rensselaer County (ERC) Community Warehouse located on Route 22 in Hoosick, just outside Hoosick Falls, is looking for a new location somewhere within the Villages and Towns of the ERC Solid Waste Management Authority. One requirement is that the new location be on a main thoroughfare, as it is now. Last week Warehouse director Matt Curley said the Warehouse, a not-for-profit, is not doing well at the moment. Greenway Check Presented At Berry Patch

Rensselaer County’s Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan got a boost Tuesday in the form of a check from the Hudson River Valley Greenway. The check was presented at the Berry Patch of Stone Wall Hill Farm in Stephentown in view of the fact that that farm received farmland protection in 2009 aided by a grant from the State’s farmland protection program.
