Cub Scout Pack 911 held its Annual Pine Wood Derby race on Sunday, March 4, at the Stephentown Fire Hall. Twenty cub scouts participated in the event. A great time was had by all the scouts and their families. Trophies were awarded to each den and to the overall winners.

HAYC3 – A Community Conversation
HAYC3 will be hosting a Community Conversation on Thursday, March 22, at 6:30 pm at HAYC3. This community conversation will consist of an eclectic panel of individuals who have helped youth in different stages of their transition into adulthood, a transition which is challenging for both kids and their parents. Join us to hear first hand stories of how different families have successfully helped their child navigate choices, set clear goals and define a path for personal success.

Tophenjamin At PVMCC In Music And Art Cafe
Join us this Friday, March 16, from 7 to 9 pm for Music and Art Cafe at the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center. This month the PVMCC will be featuring Tophenjamin, a brothers’ duo from Pittstown. Don’t miss Christopher and Ben Lane’s fresh, original interpretations of popular songs we know and love and obscure songs that are just waiting to be heard. This year marks their third birthday as a band, and they will be handing out cupcakes to celebrate! Admission is $5 per person, $8 per couple; children under 12 admitted free.
Taconic Valley Historical Society Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of the Taconic Valley Historical Society will be held Monday evening, March 19, at the Methodist Church, South Main Street, Berlin. The evening will begin with a pot luck dinner at 6 pm. We encourage you to attend and bring a casserole to share. You will also need to bring a place setting. Dessert and beverages will be provided. After dinner, there will be a brief business meeting for the purpose of electing officers and a slide presentation of upcoming programs for 2012 which include W. J. Cowee – The Man and the Company, The Dutch Church on Berlin Mountain, The Propane Gas Explosion and The CCC. Please join us for the evening and bring your ideas for additional programs.
March Events At The Stephentown Library
• St. Patrick’s Day Bake Sale – on Friday, March 16, from 12 to 8 pm and Saturday, March 17, from 10 am to 2 pm, the Friends of SML will be selling an assortment of cookies, brownies and other goodies. Items will be individually packaged to grab and go, so plan to stock up on some delicious home baked treats. The fund-raiser moves to the Stephentown Fire Hall on Saturday, March 17, from 4 to 6 pm for the SVFD Annual Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner. Have a great meal and support the Stephentown Fire Department, then purchase homemade cakes, breads, pans of brownies and more for your family gatherings or St. Patrick’s Day parties. Let us do your baking! Have a sweet St. Patrick’s Day, save time and support the SML.

55 Alive Defensive Driving Program In Hoosick Falls
There will be a 55 Alive Defensive Driving Program offered by the Hoosick Area Senior Center on April 18 from 9 am to 3 pm. The cost is $17 for AARP members and $19 for non-members. There is limited seating so sign up in advance by calling 686-7524.
Petersburgh Library Story Time
The Petersburgh Public Library will be presenting three spring storyhours for pre-schoolers. Pre-schoolers and their care-givers are invited to join us for stories, songs, crafts and snacks at 10 am on Monday mornings on March 19, 26 and April 2. On March 19, “Colors of the Rainbow” will be the theme. On March 26, “Commotion in the Ocean” will feature stories from the ocean, and April 2 will bring us “Rain, Rain Go Away.” Plan to join us with your pre-schooler for books that they will love.
SMA Basketball Tournament
St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls will be holding a basketball tournament this weekend for fifth and sixth and seventh and eighth grade teams, both boys and girls. The teams consist of Hoosick Falls, Bennington, Cambridge and Hoosic Valley players. The games will be held Friday, March 16, from 4 to 7 pm, Saturday from 8 am to 7 pm and Sunday, March 18, from 10 am to 6 pm.
New Lebanon Foundation Trivia Night
The New Lebanon Foundation will launch its 2012 fund-raising campaign with a Trivia Night to be held on March 30 from 7 to 9 pm at the New Lebanon Junior/Senior High School on Route 22. Test your trivia knowledge in a number of diverse categories while enjoying time with your team of up to six family members and friends, or join a team on the spot. Door prizes, a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle will add to the evening’s entertainment.

Al-Anon’s 27th Annual Cabin Fever Workshop
Al-Anon’s 27th Annual Cabin Fever Workshop will be held on March 17 from 9 am to 3:30 pm at the Second Congregational Church, Hillside Street, in Bennington.
Welcome and breakfast begins at 9 am. There will be a speaker from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
