Stephentown Town Board Action – Local Law #2 Adopted

The New York State Constitution provides for an “aging” process whereby State bills must “age” on legislators’ desks for at least three days before final passage. Kind of like that, the Stephentown Town Board last month, following a public hearing on a new law providing for alternate members on the Zoning and Planning Boards, tabled its passage in order to allow a bit more consideration by Councilmen and the public. Petersburgh Town Board Action – Proposal To Discontinue Four Town Roads

The Petersburgh Town Board began its meeting June 20 with a discussion with Planning Board Chairman Dave Miller about the Town’s inventory of Town roads. He focused on four roads that the Town no longer maintains but have never been formally discontinued as Town roads. These are Tifft Road, White Road, Spencer Hollow Road and Reynolds Road.

The June 9 Berlin Town Board meeting was the first meeting for Richard deLeon Jr. who was appointed in the May meeting to fill the seat held by Richard von Schilgen, and he hit the ground running. De Leon had familiarized himself with the issues before the Board and made contributing comments during the meeting. Environmental Cooperation Smooths Grafton Planning Board Meeting

The Grafton Planning Board held two public hearings before its regular meeting on Monday, June 20. One was for the application by Peter Dubacher of the Berkshire Bird Paradise for permission to install three small wind turbines at the bird sanctuary to help defray energy costs. Rabies Clinic In Grafton

There will be a rabies clinic in Grafton sponsored by the Rensselaer County Health Department on Thursday, June 30. It will be held at the Grafton Fire House, 2385 NY 2. Cats and ferrets (in a carrier) will be treated from 5 to 6 pm and dogs (on a leash) from 6 to 7 pm. Bring a previous rabies certificate in order to get a three year vaccine. Donations will be accepted.
