Hoosick Town Board Action – Winter’s Work Is Never Done

Town of Hoosick Highway Superintendent Bill Shiland said the highway crew will be busy for at least the next two to three weeks chipping brush and trees on the small roads as a result of last week’s ice storm. He said all Town roads are open for two lane traffic. He said they have started work on pot holes and will begin sweeping next week. “It’s good to be getting spring complaints, not winter ones,” he said.

Grafton Locks Of Love

Teresa has been growing her hair out for two years to be able to donate it to Locks of Love. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

Congressman Chris Gibson To Hold Town Hall Meeting In Chatham

US Congressman Chris Gibson (NY-20) announced recently that he will hold a Town Hall Meeting in Chatham on Wednesday, March 23, at 6:30 pm at the Chatham Middle School, 50 Woodbridge Avenue, Chatham.
The Congressman will make brief remarks and then take questions on federal issues.

At our March 9 meeting of Hoosick Grange Martha Babbitt was in charge of the Lecturer’s program. Martha went to the Northeast Leaders Conference at the Holiday Inn in Latham, NY. Stephentown VFD Corned Beef Dinner Is A Big Hit

On Saturday March 12, the Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department served over 300 corned beef dinners at their 13th annual event. With the help of Kilventon Fruit & Produce, Dave’s Market, the Eastwick Press, Jiminy Peak and volunteers from the Girl Scout Troop #1154, Boy Scout Troop #222 and Berlin High School students fulfilling their community service hours, the dinner was a great success.
SVFD members remarked how nice is was to have so many young people getting involved.

The Brewster Brothers And Mixed Up Basketball At Youth Center

The community is invited to an open house celebration this weekend at the Hoosick Area Youth Center, 115 Church Street, Hoosick Falls.
The celebration begins on Friday, March 18, with a free concert for high school students, featuring The Brewster Brothers, at 8 pm. Doors open at 7:45 pm. Everyone is welcome – members and non-members of the Youth Center.
