Last Chance To Register For Shatford Little League

Shatford Little League will be conducting its final registration for the 2010 season Saturday, March 20, from 10 am to noon at the Shatford Park Little League field in New Lebanon. Children living in Eastern Rensselaer and Columbia Counties who will be between the ages of 5 and 14 as of May 1 are eligible to play.

Panthers Lose Class C Final In Last Second Of Overtime

The people at the press table at the Glens Falls Civic Center were talking aloud about the effort put forth by both teams in last Sunday’s, March 7, Class C, Section II championship basketball game. Athletes, Webster Honored At BCS Sports Awards

On Wednesday night, the Berlin Central School winter sports awards were held. Participation awards as well as Most Valuable Player and Most Improved Player awards were given out. Coaches for modified, junior varsity and varsity wrestling, swimming, cheerleading, volleyball and basketball each took the opportunity to thank parents, the school and the players themselves for the dedication they put into this winter sports season.

Little Hoosic Watershed Association Annual Meeting

Moose Track Hike

The Rensselaer Land Trust is offering a Moose track hike in Berlin on Saturday, March 13. Sightings of moose on the Rensselaer Plateau have been on the increase in recent years. Kate Hubbs of The Nature Conservancy will lead a search for signs of moose at the Capital District Wildlife Management Area in Berlin near the Cherry Plain State Park.

Well, maybe Hoosick Falls Central School boys basketball Coach Mike Lilac Jr. borrowed a phrase from comedian Larry the Cable Guy because night, Wednesday night, March 1, Lilac’s Panther five “got ’er done” in their Section II, Class C semi-final game against Voorheesville Central School at the Glens Falls Civic Center and looked pretty fine in the process.
