The Fifth Annual Hoosick Bowl for Kids, sponsored by Saint Gobain and W.C.W., Inc., is set for Saturday, January 3, at Barbecue Recreation in Hoosick Falls. The Hoosick Falls Central School boys basketball season got off to a positive start last Wednesday, November 26, when they won their opening round game over Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School to the tune of 55-47 in overtime in the opening round of the Rensselaer High School Thanksgiving Tip-Off Tournament. HFCS Girls Basketball Team Drops Season Opener

New first year varsity basketball Coach Kerry Branigan saw her Hoosick Falls Central School Panther girls basketball team drop their season opening, first round game in the Mechanicville Thanksgiving Tip-Off Tournament on Friday, November 28, versus the tourney host, the Mechanicville Red Raiders, by a 43-35 score.

Pow Wow Will Come To Stephentown

After successfully producing and establishing the 3rd Annual “Rock, Rattle And Drum American Indian Pow Wow” in the Berkshires as a signature cultural event with its premier “Spirit On The Mountain Music Festival” at Eastover Resort in Lenox, MA, this past Labor day weekend, the Healing Winds producers and Pow Wow committee have decided to produce the 4th Annual Rock, Rattle And Drum Pow Wow in Stephentown on August 8 and 9 of 2009. At the Eastover event over 30 local and regional bands performed over the three day weekend holiday including Jefferson Starship and two other Grammy Award winning national acts.
