On September 11, while most of us sat stunned in front of our television sets, Hoosick Falls resident Brian Rousseau went into action. Rousseau is a Leader of the Capital District Regional Urban/Technical Search and Rescue Response Team (U/TSAR), which is an elite group of rescue specialists. Within hours his team of 100 and their fleet of five trucks had left their headquarters in Albany and were at Ground Zero, where the team remained for the next 16 days.

National Guard SSG Paul O’Malley of Hoosick Falls was at Ground Zero of the World Trade Center on Wednesday, September 12, one day after the horrendous tragedy occurred.

I went to New York City Sunday night in order to support my family and our bakery business which is located on Chambers Street between West Broadway and Greenwich Street in Manhattan, four blocks away from ground zero. When the store was evacuated last Tuesday, money was left in the register and lock box, the door unlocked. We planned to visit the site on Monday to recover what we could.

Stephentown Motocross At The ZBA – Everybody Showed Up, Not Much Got Done

After taking a break for one month, the Stephentown Zoning Board has resumed its monthly meetings focused on a request for a zoning variance for Howard Commander’s Motocross park proposed for a site off of Webster Hill Road adjoining his Lebanon Valley Race Track and drag strip.
