Town Hall Sites Discussed At Workshop

The Town of Hoosick Board held a workshop meeting on Monday, August 29, at 6 pm. The topic of the meeting was the site review and possible floor plans put together by engineer Bill Cottrell for the three buildings under consideration for the Town Hall. Cottrell presented the Board with three drawings. The layouts were not exhaustive, he said, and were based on the Town’s needs. They outlined the exiting of buildings and the changes required. He suggested Board members take time to look over the plans before going to the next step, which would be cost estimates.

Grafton To Hold Memorial For The Ten Year Anniversary Of The 9/11 Attacks

The Town of Grafton will be holding a memorial service at the Town Park on Sunday, September 11, at 1 pm in observance of the ten year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
Members of the Grafton Fire Company, Grafton Rescue Squad, Grafton VFW Post and local Clergy will be participating in the observance. Kelly Paslow, Director of Rensselaer Public Safety who volunteered at Ground Zero at the World Trade Center site, will be the guest speaker.

2011 HFCS Graduate Receives Paul Timmerman EMS Award

The Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad gives the Paul Timmerman EMS Award each year to a graduating senior of Hoosick Falls Central School who demonstrates good community service and is a good role model for classmates. Paul was an active member of the Rescue Squad whose life ended suddenly in a vehicle accident.  This year’s recipient is Brett Henry Hanselman.

Hoosick Falls Health Center’s Annual Resident And Family Picnic

On a beautiful August day under four large tents, the Annual Resident and family picnic was held in the courtyard of the Hoosick Falls Health Center. Friends Of The Cheney Library To Meet September 6

After School Care Offered At Hoosick Area Youth Center

Hoosick Grange News

Hoosick Grange met Wednesday night, August 24, with Master David Cornell. The Grange had lots of business – the price of oil, cleaning the heaters, the Schaghticoke Fair Booth, sitters for the Fair booth and workers setting up. There was an invitation from Center Brunswick Grange inviting Hoosick Grange for installation of officers. This is to be on Thursday, September 8, at 7 pm at Brunswick. Albany County will be doing the installing. The New York State Master, Stephen Coye, will be there. They are also giving out certificates. Hoosick Grange accepted the invitation. After all that business they had election of officers, and the officers are the same as this year, with David Cornell as Master and etc.
