Village of Hoosick Falls Board Meeting – Next Winter – Towing

Trustee John Hickey said Board members have received many complaints this winter about cars left on the streets during snowstorms. “The law hasn’t been enforced in several years,” said Mayor Matt Monahan. “We have given a few warnings and tickets, but that is it.” The Board agreed that later this year signs will be put up indicating odd and even side of the street parking during storms and that towing will be enforced. “We’re looking at more of these 1950s winters,” said Hickey. Trustee Ann Bornt added that it had been a nasty winter and she can’t wait for it to end.

Don Bogardus Named Grand Marshal Of The 2011 Hoosick Falls St. Patrick’s Parade
The Former Mayor Of Hoosick Falls, Don Bogardus, has been named Grand Marshal of the 2011 Hoosick Falls St. Patrick’s Parade. Don’s Irish roots come from his great-grandmother who immigrated to the United States in the late 1800s. Don is a lifelong resident of Hoosick Falls and has always been one of the Village’s biggest boosters. Don is married to Ester. They have two children Terry (Loomis) Bogardus, Curtis Bogardus and the late Joseph Bogardus.

Open Burning Banned Between March 16 and May 15

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) implemented a new open burning regulation that took effect in October 2009.
