Need Help To Quit Smoking?
The Center for Smoking Cessation at Seton Health offers a six week program to assist those who want to quit smoking. Programs are held at locations in Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Clifton Park and East Greenbush and will begin the week of September 14. For more information and registration, please call 518-459-2550.
TOPS Soccer For Little Kids
The Hoosick Falls Soccer Club has a new division this year called TOPS. This program is for three and four-year old kids and all children of any age with special needs. It will run each Saturday morning for eight weeks starting September 12. The fee is the same as the micro-league.

Too often letters placed in the paper are to voice concerns or complaints in regards to the goings on in our Eastwick communities. This letter is not intended to voice any concerns or complaints. This letter is to acknowledge, if not commend, Petersburgh’s Recreation and Swim Program that was held for our children earlier this summer.

Gym Equipment Donation
Rensselaer County’s Everett Wagar Senior Center, 2 Roxborough Road, Grafton, would like to thank the community for it’s response to our request for gym equipment for our Senior Center. We have received some great equipment – a treadmill, hand weights, abs-doer, a power rider and a few other pieces of equipment. We now have a great exercise room set up for our seniors. Thank you to everyone who donated. If you are a Rensselaer County senior 60 years of age or older come check out our gym.
Brittany Pine Graduates From Hartwick College
Brittany Pine of Hoosick Falls, daughter of Margaret and Raymond Pine, has graduated from Hartwick College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Pine graduated Magna Cum Laude, with Departmental Distinction in Psychology and College Honors. She was also named to the Dean’s List last spring
At Hartwick, she participated in Student2student Peer Mentoring Program, Women’s Varsity Soccer, Honors Program and Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Pine is a graduate of Hoosick Falls Central School.
