Free Daffodil Bulbs For Stephentown Residents
If you live or have a business on Route 43 or Route 22 in or near downtown Stephentown and would be interested in planting daffodils along the road as a Town beautification effort, Sustainable Stephentown will give away thousands of bulbs for free thanks to a Town resident’s generous donation. The bulbs will be available for fall planting so that the Town blooms in the spring.

HACA Back-To-School Boost!
Help kids learn by purchasing school supplies. Again this year the Hoosick Area Church Association is collecting school supplies and back packs to distribute to children who need them at St. Mary’s Academy and Hoosick Falls Central School.

Petersburgh Library Summer Reading Program Coming To A Close
The summer reading program is coming to a close. All reading must be completed and forms turned in by 5 pm on Monday, August 13. Youth need to have their reading logs turned in or completed online and teens and adults need to have their raffle slips turned in by that time.
On Wednesday, August 15, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm everyone is invited to join us for a drop-in activity. We will be making a tic-tac-toe game that you can take home. Those who have completed the reading requirements for the summer reading program may pick up their certificates and prizes at that time. At 7:30 pm the drawings will be held to determine the winners of the teen and adult gift baskets. If you are unable to attend that day, your prizes may be picked up at the Library any time after that.
Berlin Library Book And Bake Sale
The Berlin Free Town Library announces its annual Book and Bake Sale. What could be better than a sweet treat and a stack of books to read? The Book and Bake Sale will take place at the Library on Saturday, August 25, from 9 am to 1 pm. The Library Board asks for your support through donations of new or gently used books and items for the bake sale.

Don’t Miss The Excitement At The Stephentown Memorial Library
Free Daily Lunch For Kids Through August 17
The Stephentown Library is pleased to have been chosen as an open feeding site through this federally funded lunch program. We will be serving a healthy bag lunch each weekday from 12 to 1 pm in the community room. There is no charge and no income or residency requirement. No preregistration is required. All children 18 and under are encouraged to take advantage of this program. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The program will run until August 17, Monday through Friday.

August Events At The New Lebanon Library
The New Lebanon Library announces the following August events. All of these events are free and will take place at the library which is located at 550 State Route 20.
• August 15, 22, 29 (event is on Wednesdays) – Tales for Tots Story Hour – 10:30 am. Story hour includes crafts, songs and movement activities.
• August 15, 22, 29 (event is on Wednesdays) – Hug-A-Bye Babies – noon; age appropriate stories, songs and movement activities for our youngest patrons and their caregivers.
• August 16, 23, 30 (event is on Thursdays) – Bright Beginnings Story Hour and Play Group – 11 am to 2 pm. Meet other parents and care providers while your child aged 0-5 hears a story then socializes with other children in an unstructured, educational setting.

The Commendation List recognizes part time students who have earned a minimum grade point average of 3.25 during the spring semester. Shawnee Webster Receives Honors At Southern Vermont College
Shawnee Webster of Hoosick received the Academic Excellence Award in Criminal Justice and the Estelle B. Atwood Scholarship at Southern Vermont College’s Honors Convocation this spring in Bennington, VT. She also received the Women’s Soccer Player of the Year Award at the College’s athletic banquet this spring.
