“Quite a family” were the words that District 5 County Legislator Stan Brownell used to describe the family of Wilma Anderson of Berlin when they appeared Tuesday evening in the Legislative Chamber to receive copies of the resolution passed last month that honored her memory. On April 1 the community came together at the Berlin Firehouse to participate in a meeting concerning the use of drugs and alcohol in the towns of Stephentown, Berlin, Petersburgh and Grafton. Auditions are being held June 1 and 2 with callbacks on June 4 for Ernest Thompson’s On Golden Pond to be presented by the award winning Circle Theatre Players. Production will be held in mid-October. Auditions will take place at 7 pm at Sand Lake Center for the Arts, 2880 NY 43, Averill Park, NY.
The roles to be filled are a man and a woman 60+, two men and one woman, 30s-40s, and a male, 11-15 years old. For information, contact Director Joan Fuess 674-2154.
The American Legion Taconic Valley Post #937 will be hosting a Memorial Day Parade in the Town of Berlin on Monday, May 25, at 11 am.
All interested marchers should assemble between the Baptist and Catholic Churches on Main Street at 10:30 am.
Questions about the parade should be directed to the American Legion Taconic Valley Post at 658-2757.
