Full Wolf Moon Cross-Country Ski Trek

Enjoy the stillness of the full wolf moon at a guided cross-country ski trek at the Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center on Saturday, January 30, beginning at 7 pm.  This ski trek will cover about 2 miles and is designed for the intermediate skier. No beginners or snowshoes, please. We will be traveling under the natural light of the full moon. This program is free. Please call the Center for updated snow conditions at 658-2055.

Friends of GLSP Sponsor Silent Art Auction At Winter Festival

A silent auction of photos, drawings and paintings created during Grafton Lakes State Park’s Art in the Park program will be held at the Park’s Winter Festival on Saturday, February 6.  The auction and exhibit, sponsored by the Friends of Grafton Lakes State Park, will be held in the maintenance shop from 11 am to 3 pm.

A Heart Warming Reunion After 45 Years

Jane Goodermote of Berlin took in a 10 year old foster child 45 years ago. She was close to the age of her own daughter and for a year the girls grew up together. They went to school together and had their first boyfriends together. They even got rings which they steamed to peel back the covering to make them shiny wedding rings. Jane taught Penny Carlisle various country skills, including how to dig dandelions.

Grafton FD And Auxiliary Breakfast

The Grafton Volunteer Fire Department along with the Grafton Ladies Auxiliary will be holding an All You Can Eat Buffet Breakfast on Saturday, January 30, from 8 to 11 am at the Grafton VFW – Fire Hall on South Road (County Route 85).  Belgian waffles, pancakes, French toast, eggs (made to order), bacon, sausage, home fries, toast, orange juice, coffee and milk are on the menu. The cost is $8 per adult, $4 for kids 12 and under and free for kids 5 and under.  We look forward to serving you!
