The third annual Fill the Bus Food Drive, benefiting the Hoosick Area Church Association (HACA) Food Pantry will take place in Hoosick Falls from October 7 to the 13th. The students of Hoosick Falls Central School and St. Mary’s Academy are encouraged to bring food throughout the week. On Friday, October 11, at the HFCS Homecoming football game the bus will be open for the public to fill up. A raffle will be held this year at the football game for a 32” flat screen T.V.
On Sunday, October 13, from 9 am to 12 pm a truck will be parked on Main Street near the Baptist Church to collect food. Meanwhile the school bus will be at the Cow Plop Giveaway & Car Show being held at the Town of Hoosick Athletic Fields from 9 am to 3 pm.
The HACA Food Pantry serves the greater Hoosick Falls community by supplying food and toiletries to over 1,697 households per year. In 2012 42,273 meals were given to those in need, and that number keeps growing. This year the Food Pantry has served over 23,000 meals thus far and the holidays are quickly approaching. Please come celebrate Homecoming and support those in need at the same time by helping to Fill the Bus.
