Fill The Bus – October 5-7 In Hoosick Falls
A Hoosick Falls Central School big yellow school bus will be collecting food instead of kids October 5-7. Everyone is encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item to the HFCS Homecoming Football game and activities surrounding the game on Friday, October 5. On Sunday, October 7, the bus will be on Main Street from 9 am until noon, parked in the drive of the Robson-Reinfurt Funeral Home. Then you can find it at the St. Mary’s Cow Plop until 4 pm.
This annual food drive is to benefit the Hoosick Falls Food Pantry. The food pantry is in great need of pastas, peanut butter, jelly, boxed macaroni and cheese, canned fruit, jello, pudding and toiletries.
HAYC3 Decks The Streets With Painted Pumpkins – Fa La La La La, La La, La, La!
In preparation for Pumpkinpalooza 4, set for September 29, pumpkins were painted in storefront windows along the main streets in Hoosick Falls last week. Pumpkin flags are also flying along Main Street, John Street and Church Street and signs are being placed in the outskirts of the Town announcing this community celebration.

Fall Story Time For Preschool Children At The Cheney Library
The Cheney Library in Hoosick Falls will be having a Fall Story Time for preschool children and their caregivers. The story time will start on October 2 at 10 am in the children’s section of the Library. This fall we will be reading about animals; all kinds of animals. We will do some exciting rhymes and finger plays and sing some songs. We will have a craft to go with the story, and, of course, we will have snacks – the high point of the story time.
Please join us for Fall Story Time. The Cheney Library is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 1 to 8 pm, Tuesday 10 am to 5 pm, Friday 11 am to 4 pm and Saturday 8 am to 1 pm. The Library phone number is 518-686-9401.
Pumpkinpalooza Pet Parade
The second annual pet parade will take place at HAYC3’s fourth annual Pumpkinpalooza. Owners of any and all pet types are welcome to participate in this fun event for a chance to win one of several pet prizes. Participants are welcome to register at the HAYC3 welcome station at the Athletic Field beginning at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 29.
The parade will step off at 11 am and proceed from the tennis courts, down Main Street to Wood Park. Judges will review the entries during the parade and select the winners. An award presentation will take place at the Wood Park Gazebo at 11:30 am.
Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded for the funniest, cutest and most original costume.
SMA Students Celebrate Constitution Day By Ringing Bell
Students from St. Mary’s Academy honored the celebration of Constitution Day on September 17 at 4 pm by ringing their (over 120-year-old) school bell in unison with the entire country, from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Monday was the 225th anniversary of the acceptance of that historic document.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee Hosting A “Half-way To St. Patrick’s Day” Tournament
The Hoosick Irish Open Crazy Pin Scramble will be held on Saturday, September 22, with a 1 pm shotgun start. Four person teams are $50 per player. Come and test your skills at some of the craziest pin placements. Golfers and non-golfers are welcome to attend and take a chance on great raffles. Come and enjoy the scenic views, music, bagpipes and food on the Hoosick Falls Country Club porch.
