Friday, May 4, was the third annual kindergarten Trike-A-Thon at Hoosick Falls Central School. The morning started with a New York State Trooper visiting the kindergarten classes to teach them about bicycle safety and discuss the importance of always wearing their helmets when riding their bikes.

Local School Winners
It is with great pride that local school winners were announced by Bennington Elks 567 this week. Winners of the Americanism essay, entitled “Why It Is Important To Say The Pledge Of Allegiance,” were McKenzie Bradley and Anna Wysocki in grades 5-8 at St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls. Both received a $25 check from the Lodge. All participants were awarded a beautiful certificate of participation.

The Center’s Ladies’ Auxiliary Members Craft Memory-Stimulating Aprons
Members of the Auxiliary at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation at Hoosick Falls have been designing aprons that will be used by Center residents. These creative aprons will help the occupational therapists to stimulate conversation with Alzheimer’s patients at the Center by creating tactile and visual memory associations. Del Rosario Receives Masters Degree
Kristen B. Del Rosario received a Master of Science in Accounting Degree from Siena College, Loudonville, NY, on Sunday, May 13, 2012. She was also the recipient of the Becker Scholarship for Success presented at the Siena College Accounting Students Association Annual Spring Banquet held on April 26. Kristen is the daughter of Donald and Janice Del Rosario of Hoosick Falls.
