The Louis Miller Museum has purchased an additional 50 books, The Community of Hoosick Falls – Circa 1950,written by Barbara Burke Simoneau. To date, we have sold three hundred books. HFFD Joining State-Wide Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment Effort

“Volunteers serve from three to five years, most times,” said Hoosick Falls Fire Chief Robert Bornt. “Then others serve for a lifetime.” Bornt is a life member of the Hoosick Falls Fire Department. Many of the members currently serving are life members – and they aren’t getting any younger. The problem is recruiting new members of any age to be firefighters. On Monday, April 2, members of the Hoosick Falls Kiwanis Club K-Kids presented HFCS Kindergarten teacher Sarah Fleming with a check for $50. The funds will be used to purchase helmets for Kindergarten students who participate in the class’s Trikeathon to benefit the Albany Medical Center’s Children’s Hospital.
