Hoosick Falls Elementary School Accepting Universal Pre-Kindergarten Applications
The Hoosick Falls Central School District is currently looking for the Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) class of 2012-2013. UPK is a special program established by the State Education Department to provide an early learning experience for the children of eligible families. Eligible families are defined as those who live in the Hoosick Falls School District and have children who will be four years old on or before December 1, 2012.

Due to vacation issues the regular meeting of the Hoosick Town Board was held on Tuesday, April 3. The future of the Armory still dominated a portion of the meeting, though there appeared to be a kinder, gentler approach from all sides. Once again the meeting room was filled to overflowing.

Hoosick Falls Police Seek Tips On Alleged Home Invader
On Sunday, April 1, the Hoosick Falls Police Department completed its investigation of a reported Home Invasion that occurred on Saturday morning March 24, 2012.
The initial report was that three females had broken into a home on Elm Street in the Village of Hoosick Falls where they assaulted a 26 year old female.

In regards to the Hoosick Falls Armory issue that has become a point of contention in our community. The simple fact is that communities and cities everywhere are scaling back services as well as spending. Areas of Detroit, Michigan, have essentially been abandoned because the city can no longer afford to provide services such as water or care of roads because of a lack of revenue.
