Blessing Of The Animals Moves Indoors

Payton Zedalis and Aleah Stowell share a chair while they wait for their animals, Tyler the dog and Dolly the cat, to be blessed in honor of St. Francis of Assisi. The planned outdoor ceremony Wednesday evening, October 6, was moved to the First United Presbyterian Church Hall because of rain. Rev. Donna Eli bestowed blessings on five dogs and three cats. Hundreds Turn Out For Walk To Prevent Suicide

On Sunday evening, October 3, the crowd of all ages, from families with youngsters in strollers, to teens, to seniors, kept growing and growing as people gathered for the first annual Community Walk to Prevent Suicide. This year the walk was in memory of two HFCS teens. Joe Sweeney took his life about six months ago. Tyler Marcoux’s death was very recent. Semi-Pro Football Comes To Hoosick Falls

Sunday, October 3, a New England Football Semi-pro League playoff game between the Rampage of Central Vermont and the Southern Vermont Storm was held at the HFCS Ken Baker Field. The Storm is made up of players from Bennington, Fair Haven, Jacksonville, Manchester, Pownal and Sandgate, VT, Lanesborough, North Adams and Williamstown,  MA, and Johnsonville, Troy, Shushan and Valley Falls, NY. It is also made up of Alex Hansen, Jeffery Hunt, Sean Lennon, Shawn Morrison, Warren O’Grady, Don Skott, Gregg Stroffoleno and Francis Tilley, III of Hoosick Falls and William Telford of White Creek.

Lions Club Donates To Veterans Wall

HFCS PTA Fall Festival 2010 Is Just Around The Corner!

It’s that time of year when the HFCS PTA gears up for their annual Fall Festival, now in its tenth year. The hustle-bustle is underway and the excitement mounting for the young and young-at-heart as Fall Festival 2010 is just around the corner. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, October 23, from 9 am to 3 pm at HFCS.

Beautiful Day For A Cow Plop

Sunday was a perfect autumn day. The weather was absolutely beautiful for the St. Mary’s Academy Cow Plop and Car Show. There were plenty of activities for the kids and lots of great food. Ben Patten supplied plenty of patter and music to match the era of the 113 collector cars, trucks and motorcycle that made up this year’s show. Those vehicles just gleamed in the sun!
