The weekend of events memorializing legendary coach and educator Ken Baker and supporting the Coach Ken Baker Memorial Scholarship Fund culminated with a brief dedication ceremony at the Town Athletic Fields on Sunday, June 13. Hoosick Town Councilman Bob Ryan, Town Supervisor Keith Cipperly and Councilman Jeff Wysocki presented the Baker Family with a proclamation renaming the complex the Coach Ken Baker Athletic Fields. Concert In Memory Of Brad Cole
“It was a sad day in July 1960 when H. Bradford Cole died at his home making breakfast. He was the music man of the community and spent 18 years motivating the students of the Hoosick falls Schools. He never refused or missed a parade. The community, the area, and the students counted on him. I remember the weeks that followed. Baseball Camp
The “Good Old Country Hardball” Baseball Camp will once again be held at the Hoosick Little League Fields for those entering grades 3-8. The camp dates are July 5 through July 8, and the day runs from 9 am to 3 pm. Camp brochures can be picked up at the Hoosick Little League Field snack bar or by calling Camp Director Mike Lilac at 686-7321 or 686- 4320.

The Hoosier Basketball Camp will again be sponsored by the Town of Hoosick for boys and girls entering grades 3-8. Camp dates are June 28 through July 1, and each day runs from 9 am to 3 pm. Kirtland F. Stowell
Hoosick Falls – Kirtland F. Stowell, 85, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center after a brief illness. He formerly resided in Buskirk, NY, and was the husband of the late Helen Elizabeth Stowell who passed on March 15, 1992.

The Town of Hoosick Fire Chief’s Association is sponsoring a meet and greet night for the entire public to come and greet all of the emergency responders for the Town of Hoosick area. This event will be held on Thursday, June 24, at 6:30 pm on the Town of Hoosick athletic field on Griffin Avenue in Hoosick Falls.

Big Band Concert June 30
The summer concert season will begin a week early this year with a special presentation on June 30 by the Hoosick Falls Big Band, the Stardusters. Show time is 7:30 pm, and the program will last, as all band concerts do, until 9 pm. The program will consist of big band style music from all eras and will feature local vocal soloists also.
