Dennis Flynn To Speak At Hoosick Falls Memorial Day Event

Dennis Flynn of Stage Road, Buskirk, will be guest speaker at the Hoosick Falls Memorial Day Celebration, following the annual parade on May 30. Flynn served as a staff sergeant in the US Army, Army Reserve and the Army National Guard.

Register For The Townwide Tag Sale

The deadline to register a sale for the Annual Hoosick Townwide Tag Sale is Monday, May 23. Registration forms are available at the Village Clerk’s Office, 26 Main Street, and at the Hoosick Area Youth Center, 115 Church Street. There is a small fee to be on the map.

Hoosick Grange News

Hoosick Grange met on May 11 with Master David Cornell. The Masonic Dinner Committee gave a report on a successful dinner. The Master thanked everyone. During the meeting the Chaplain reported the death of our sister Barbara Baker. The Grange had a memorial service for her and the family.

Hoosick Falls Musicians Selected For The Lions Youth Band

Seven musicians from the Hoosick Falls Central School band were selected to perform with the MD-20 Lions Youth band. This band is selected from all over New York State and the Island of Bermuda. Bermuda is part of the Long Island Lions District.

Hoosick Republican Giffy’s Chicken BBQ

The Town of Hoosick Republican Party will sponsor a Giffy’s Chicken BBQ on Thursday, May 26, at the Grand Union Parking lot from 4 to 6 pm. Tickets cost $10 each and can be purchased from any Committee member or by calling the number below. There will be limited amount of extra meals, so order soon. We always sell out early.
Pick up will begin at 4 pm. Eat a delicious hot meal barbecued on the premises with all the fixings and best of all – no cleanup. As always, we thank you in advance for your support. For tickets or more information, please call 518-322-8685 or 686-5992.

Walter A. Wood Alumni Reunion

The Walter A. Wood Alumni Reunion will be held on Saturday, June 11, at the Pittstown, NY, Volunteer Emergency Corps Building. Dinner will be served at 12:30 pm.  Special classes to be recognized are the graduating classes of 1961, 1951, 1941 and prior years. Merrily We Roll Along A Poignant & Moving Story

Hubbard Hall has opened a new production of Merrily We Roll Along, a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Despite its upbeat title, it’s rather a sad story, with the lead character making a series of bad decisions that estrange him from those he loves, and make himself and them miserable.

Armory And Sports Complex Topics At Hoosick Board

At the Hoosick Town Board meeting on Monday evening, May 9, Councilman Mark Surdam said Board members have begun getting feedback on the Town staying in or leaving the Armory. He said, “Recently there was a huge issue in Berlin that completely divided the community. I don’t want to see that happen here. We can respectfully agree to disagree. We have to keep the ball rolling and do what’s best for the majority in the Town.”

Heartfelt Goodbyes For Berlin And Stephentown Families

Hoosick Falls Clean-Up Day And Block Party Is This Saturday

Come be part of a community effort to do a little spring cleaning in the Village of Hoosick Falls this Saturday, May 14. The Hoosick Area Youth Center and Community Coalition (HAYC3) has organized a large group of volunteers to support this effort, but more volunteers are needed.
