Charges Against Hoosick Couple Mount Up

Tara L. Morelli, 30, and Gregory S. Girl Scout Camp will be held this year August 3 through August 7 at the Hoosac School from 9 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. The camp costs $40 per girl. The camp is operated under Rensselaer County Health Department guidelines.

Lohnes Pleads Not Guilty

Michael Lohnes of Hoosick Falls appeared before Rensselaer County Court Judge Andrew G. Ceresia on July 1 to face charges in connection with a December 29, 2008, burglary at a Hill Road farm in the Town of Hoosick. In addition to the burglary charges, Lohnes is accused of criminal mischief and cruelty to animals. A horse named Skye, boarded at the farm and owned by Dawn Feathers was stabbed 20 times and killed the night of the burglary.

Hoosick History Camps
Registrations are still being accepted for Summer History Camps at the Barnett Homestead at the Bennington Battlefield New York State Historic Site. Camps begin on July 6 with “In Grandma Moses’ Day,” which gives campers the opportunity to learn how to make their own paint at home, make handmade soap and candles, create original paintings, build a Shaker stool and, of course, cook every day.
