Rensselaer County District Five Legislature Get-together In Hoosick

The Committee to Re-elect Stan Brownell and Lester Goodermote invites the public to a dinner buffet at Guiseppe’s Restaurant on Rte 7 in Pittstown on April 28 at 7 pm.  Tickets cost $30 each, $50 per couple.  Reservations are preferred by calling 518-322-8685 or 518-892-9427.  Come and join Stan and Lester, as well as other County elected officials, for an enjoyable evening.  There will be a 50/50 raffle and door prizes.

On April 9 the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation announced changes in the 2009-10 operating schedules at a number of parks and historic sites in the Saratoga-Capital Region.  The changes reflect a reduction in State spending at parks and historic sites statewide.

Rensselaer County Recognizes Hoosick Falls’ Excellence In Bowling

Hoosick Falls bowling took center stage at the Rensselaer County Legislative session Tuesday night when Matt Brownell and the Hoosick Falls Central School bowling team appeared in the Chamber to receive copies of the resolutions passed last month that honored them for their achievements.

Public Hearing On Grant Application To Restore Brown’s Brewery

On Monday evening, April 6 at a special meeting of the Hoosick Board a resolution was passed to apply for a Round 3 Restore NY Communities Initiative Municipal Grant for $1.8 million. If received, the Grant would allow for the restoration of a 30,000 square foot building, including roof and windows, at 50 Factory Hill Rd. The building would become a brewery with tasting room for Brown’s Brewing Co. The building is located in an Empire Zone.
