The January meeting of the Taconic Valley Community Group (TVCG), is scheduled for Thursday, January 13, at 12:30 pm at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall, Route 20, New Lebanon. The program will feature Jim Shake of the American Red Cross discussing the blood drive that TVCG will host on Thursday, February 10, at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall. New Lebanon Town Board Action – Town Hall Project Defeated At Polls

The New Lebanon Town Hall project has gone down to defeat for a second time. In a referendum on Saturday residents voted 191 to 128 to reject the proposal to finance $435,000 for the construction and restoration of the Town Hall building in Lebanon Springs. In the June 29 referendum to authorize up to $815,000 for the project, the vote was 182 to 88. Neither vote drew a very large turnout. About 18% voted in June and 23% on Saturday.

The Lebanon Valley Historical Society Receives Grant
The Lebanon Valley Historical Society (LVHS), New Lebanon, has received a $3,485 grant for Phase 1 of a project to document the demise of the Tilden Pharmaceutical Company in New Lebanon. The grant was awarded by the Documentary Heritage Program of the New York State Education Department. The LVHS was one of eight entities in New York State to receive funding.

Big Plans For The Shaker Village In New Lebanon

Work is progressing on the creation of a marvelous heritage tourism destination at the Shaker Village in New Lebanon. David Stocks, President of the Shaker Museum and Library, currently based in Old Chatham, recently intrigued members and guests of the Stephentown Historical Society with his presentation about the ingenious Shakers and ongoing plans to relocate the Museum and Library to a restored North Family area of the Mount Lebanon Shaker Village.

New Lebanon To Vote Saturday On Town Hall Project

The Town of New Lebanon will hold a voter referendum on Saturday, December 11, from 11 am to 5 pm at the Church of The Immaculate Conception, US Rt. 20, New Lebanon. All registered voters of New Lebanon are eligible to vote.

LVPA To Turn Over Services
Benjamin Wheeler, Chief, announces that the Lebanon Valley Protective Association is turning over all Emergency Medical Services to Chatham Rescue as of December 31 and will no longer operate an ambulance out of the Fire Department. You may contact 911 to obtain help as you have done before. “Thank you for allowing us to be of assistance to you for sixty one years,” Chief Wheeler said.
New Lebanon Town Meeting Change Of Venue
The December 13 public hearing on the amended dog law at 6:45 pm and the regular meeting at 7 pm will be at the American Legion Hall not at the Fire House as originally scheduled.
