A complimentary breakfast prepared by volunteer chef Byron Dawes and sponsored by PVMCC will be served to Petersburgh veterans on Saturday, February 5, from 8 to 10 am. The deluxe menu includes eggs, bacon, pancakes, sausage, French toast, donuts and Danish with coffee, tea and juice. Matthew Howe Named To Coastal Carolina University President’s List

Matthew T. Howe of Stephentown earned President’s List status for the fall 2010 semester at Coastal Carolina University.  To qualify for the President’s List, students must earn a 4.0 grade point average. All students must be enrolled full time.
Coastal Carolina University is a dynamic, public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, just minutes from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The Johnsonville Rescue Squad Breakfast

The Johnsonville Rescue Squad located at 4 River Road in Johnsonville will be having its monthly breakfast on Sunday, February 6. The menu consists of pancakes, French toast, eggs, hash browns, omelets, sausage, toast, fruit, juice and coffee. Hours are 7:30 to 11:30 am. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children 5-12. Snowshoe Hike At The Robert Ingalls Preserve

Explore the Rensselaer Land Trust’s newest 30 acre public preserve, The Robert Ingalls Preserve in Stephentown, on snowshoes.  The snowshoe hike will follow along the Black Brook, a native trout spawning stream, wander along a ravine and traverse through the forest.  Plan on a 1 hour to 1½ hour hike with a departure at 10 am on February 12. William Carter Sparks

East Hoosick – William Carter “Butch” Sparks, 78, passed away after a long battle with cancer, on Sunday, January 16, 2011, at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bennington, VT. He had resided on Ore Bed Road in East Hoosick, NY, with his beloved wife Patricia (Barnes) Sparks. They were married on June 11, 1960.
