Webkinz Party – Kick off the week with a Webkinz gathering at the Library. Bring your favorite Webkinz pets on Monday, April 5, from 11 am to 2 pm and meet other Webkinz owners for socializing and snacks. There will be extra computers available for all attendees to use to log in to their Webkinz account. A special tea party will be held for the pets, and there will be door prize drawings for Webkinz items. Come and bring your friends!

Texas Hold’em
The Stephentown Fire Department will sponsor a Texas Hold’em Tournament on Saturday, April 10, in the Stephentown Fire Hall, located on Grange Hall Road in Stephentown. The doors will open at 5 pm and close at 6 pm. Play begins at 6:15 sharp.
No advance registration is required, and a donation of $25 per player is accepted. Players can pay at the door and can buy 1,000 extra chips for $10. This tournament will pay eight places; the first player out receives $25 back.
Hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bottled water, soda and coffee will be available for purchase.

AARP Defensive Driving Course
The Everett Wagar Senior Center, 2 Roxborough Road, Grafton, will be holding an AARP Safe Driving Course, Wednesday, April 28, and Thursday, April 29, from 10 am to 2 pm with a break at noon for lunch. Lisa Dooley Graduates From Sage College Of Albany
Lisa Dooley of Grafton graduated magna cum laude from the Sage College of Albany in December. Dooley received a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies. She is a member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society.
Brunswick Elks Defensive Driving Course

Our next class will be two 3-hour sessions on Monday, April 12 and 19. Both are from 6 to 9 pm. The cost to attend is just $40 per person if paid in advance and $45 if paid at the door.

American Legion Post 40 Anniversary Celebrations
Each year the American Legion Post 40 and the Auxiliary Unit 40 of Hoosick Falls get together and celebrate their anniversaries. This time the gentlemen are celebrating their 91st year and the ladies their 78th year.
Through the years we have supported our veterans and our community with all the programs we have to offer. We do everything from the Memorial Day Parade to our open house on Veterans Day. If you are interested in helping us celebrate, we are having a dinner on Saturday, April 10, starting at 5 pm. Seating and tickets are limited, so book early. Karaoke Contest At Kids Dance
The North Hoosick Fire Department is sponsoring its first karaoke contest at the Kids Dance this Friday, April 2, from 7 to 10:30 pm at the fire house on Rt. 22. Students ages 9 to 15 are welcome to attend the dance.
There are only two rules for the contest:
1) A maximum of two singers per performance, and
2) You must complete the song to qualify for the first place cash prize. The more performances the higher the prize.
Students who are participating should arrive early to sign up.
Owls: Silent Predators Of The Night
The Columbia Land Conservancy (CLC) presents Owls: Silent Predators of the Night on Thursday, April 8, from 2 to 3:30 pm at the New Lebanon Library. The program is geared to school age children.

Food For Fines At The New Lebanon Library
Put your library fines to work for the community. This year National Library Week is April 12-17. During this time, the New Lebanon Library will exchange food for fines. Fines for overdue materials, regardless of the amount, will be cleared from your record at a rate of one fine for one food item donated. Only overdue items – not lost or damaged items – are eligible for the exchange.
