Stephentown Becomes A Windmill Park

Sometime in the next few weeks a parade of heavy trucks carrying parts for giant wind turbines will start moving into Stephentown. The turbines are ultimately headed for Brodie Mountain in neighboring Hancock, MA, but pending moving them up the mountain for installation, the parts, including towers, blades, nacelles and hubs will be parked in Neil Gardner’s field. Million Dollar Bridge Work Underway

Work has begun on the Caretaker’s Bridge over the Walloomsac. Once completed, the one lane bridge will allow Battlefield visitors to drive their cars to the old cemetery, to another portion of the Battlefield and then cross over to the Barnett House.
