Just a note of appreciation to all the Berlin Central School students that went to Algonquin and Doyle Middle School for summer school.
You all were very patient with the long rides and long wait.

Letter To The Editor – Praising The Petersburgh Summer Programs

Dear Editor,
Too often letters placed in the paper are to voice concerns or complaints in regards to the goings on in our Eastwick communities. This letter is not intended to voice any concerns or complaints. This letter is to acknowledge, if not commend, Petersburgh’s Recreation and Swim Program that was held for our children earlier this summer.

Gym Equipment Donation

Rensselaer County’s Everett Wagar Senior Center, 2 Roxborough Road, Grafton, would like to thank the community for it’s response to our request for gym equipment for our Senior Center.  We have received some great equipment – a treadmill, hand weights, abs-doer, a power rider and a few other pieces of equipment. We now have a great exercise room set up for our seniors.  Thank you to everyone who donated.   If you are a Rensselaer County senior 60 years of age or older come check out our gym.

Brittany Pine Graduates From Hartwick College

Brittany Pine of Hoosick Falls, daughter of Margaret and Raymond Pine, has graduated from Hartwick College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Pine graduated Magna Cum Laude, with Departmental Distinction in Psychology and College Honors. She was also named to the Dean’s List last spring
At Hartwick, she participated in Student2student Peer Mentoring Program, Women’s Varsity Soccer, Honors Program and Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Pine is a graduate of Hoosick Falls Central School.

Rhiannon M. Ledwell Named To Colby College Dean’s List

Rhiannon M. Ledwell, a junior at Colby College in Waterville, ME, was named to the Dean’s List for her outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2008-09 year. Ledwell, the daughter of Michelle Ledwell of Hoosick Falls, is majoring in music. She attended Hoosick Falls Central School.
Students whose grade point averages are in the top 30 percent are named to the Dean’s List.

Area Students On College of Saint Rose Spring 2009 Dean’s List

Tristin Crawford, a resident of Berlin, and  Madalyn Parnas, a resident of Stephentown, are among 750 students named to the Dean’s List for Spring 2009 at The College of Saint Rose in Albany.
Full-time students who complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and achieve a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grades of D, F, Incomplete of Pass/Fail are eligible for inclusion on the Dean’s List.

Area Students Honored For Academics At SUNY Canton

SUNY Canton President Joseph L. Kennedy and the College’s deans have released the honor roll for the Spring 2009 Semester.
Rebecca A. Fischer of Petersburgh, made President’s List. Fischer is a Veterinary Science Technology major who is a 2007 graduate of Berlin Central High School.
Tyler J. Purdy of Stephentown, made Dean’s List. Purdy is a Civil Engineering Technology major who is a 2007 graduate of Berlin Central High School.
