Grafton Town Board Action – August 2009

The Grafton Town Board meeting started off with the report from Highway Superintendent Sandy Hasbrouck and the only thing to report was the vandalism of the Mountain Chapel sign on Route 22 and other signs and other items that have indeed been “tagged.” The vandalism is now in the hands of the law and will now be taken care of by the District Attorney’s Office.

Peg is the daughter of William and Mary Ruditis of Hoosick Falls, and Herb is the son of Hubert and Lydia Loretan of Athol, MA. The Watipi Building in Berlin was originally set up for the Campfire Girls and Boy Scouts. The stipulation that went with the building was that it would always be available for youth activities. It is now also being used by the veterans, senior citizens and political functions.

Stephentown Town Assessor Thomas MacVeigh advises Cold War Veterans seeking an exemption on their January land tax that they must apply by September 25, 2009. Applications may be picked up at the Stephentown Town Hall or at the Assessor’s Office, or they may be accessed online at www.orps.state.ny.us , Form No. RP-458B. This is for veterans who do not qualify for the regular veterans exemptions.
