Sawyer Suit Against Grafton Settled

Grafton Supervisor Frank Higgins announced at the December 9 Town Board meeting that the lawsuit brought by former Supervisor Tyler Sawyer against the Town, former Acting Supervisor Cathy Goyer and former Bookkeeper Victoria Nellis has been settled. County Memorializes Stephentown’s Robert Reiter

At the start of the Rensselaer County Legislature’s regular meeting on Tuesday, the Chairman of the Legislature, Martin Reid of West Sand Lake, asked for a moment of silence in memory of Bob Reiter of Stephentown. Reiter was the Director of the Veterans Service Agency for Rensselaer County. He died on November 18, 2013, after a long illness.

Village of Hoosick Falls Board Action – Woods Brook Issue Discussed

At the Hoosick Falls Village Board meeting on Tuesday, December 10, Mayor David Borge said there had been a meeting with U.S. Congressman Chris Gibson’s representative Steve Bulger regarding the Woods Brook problem. “Whatever the fix may be, it will be very expensive,” said Borge. The Mayor said Bulger is working to set up a meeting in the Village after the first of the year with Congressman Gibson, a representative of DEC and a representative of the Army Corps of Engineers.

As 2013 comes to a close in New Lebanon, the Town Board, at its monthly meeting Tuesday, found itself occupied with the same undertaking facing millions of other Americans this holiday season: figuring out health insurance. The general consensus of Americans, judging by lackluster results so far, is to put the whole process off for as long as possible in hope that things will iron themselves out later.
