May Events At GLSP And Cherry Plain State Park

Parking fees apply on weekends of $6 per car through May 23 and $8 per car once swimming opens on Memorial Day weekend at GLSP. CP fees will be $6 per car on weekends until July, when swimming opens.
Saturday, May 15 – Star Watch at Grafton Lakes State Park at 8:30 pm. Join with members of the Albany Area  Astronomers and come explore the night sky. Meet at the main parking lot. Call 658-9144 to confirm.

It Takes A Village…

On Saturday, April 24, Wood Park was filled with uniformed boys and girls and their families ready to start another Hoosick Youth Baseball and Softball season, and some Tee Ball, too. They walked from the Park to the fields, ready for action. On the major league field this year there is a new dirt infield and a new scoreboard in the outfield. The softball field also received a face-lift with an electronic scoreboard and some much needed improvements to the steps and stands.

ERC Celebrates Earth Day

On Saturday, May 1, the ERC Warehouse on Route 22 was abuzz with Earth Day activities. Youngsters were making craft projects from recycled materials and Beatrice Green the Recycling Queen encouraged visitors to “remember the three Rs, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.” There were free raffle items and plenty of lovely “gently used” items for sale.

Quackenbush One Hits Cambridge In Softball Win

Well, the Queen of the Diamond and her teammates were at it again yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, May 5, when Charlie Weeden’s Hoosick Falls Central School Panther softball team rode the overpowering, one hit, nineteen strikeout performance of sophomore pitcher Rachel Quackenbush to a 7-0 WASAREN League win over host Cambridge Central School. A Vicious Battle – Softball That Is

It was a vicious battle from the beginning to the end between the Lady Tigers and Lady Mountaineers softball teams. The first few innings for both teams were a quick three up, three down with New Lebanon getting one run. Baseball And Softball Season Opens In Hoosick Falls

It was a beautiful Saturday in gorgeous Hoosick Falls as the baseball and softball teams lined up for their annual parade. The Parade went from Wood Park to the baseball fields at the Water Works Road. Maggie McAuliffe, the President of the baseball club introduced the teams that are split up into mini-minors, 10 and under and 12 and under for softball; and t-ball, instructional majors and minors for baseball.
