Memorial Day In Berlin
The American Legion Taconic Valley Post #937 will be hosting a Memorial Day Parade in the Town of Berlin on Monday, May 28, at 11 am.
All interested marchers should assemble between the Baptist and Catholic Churches on Main Street at 10:30 am.
A short memorial service will be conducted at the Petersburgh Cemetery at 9:30 am.
Questions on the Parade should be directed to the American Legion Taconic Valley Post at 658-9397.
Hoosick Makes The Airwaves

Hoosick and Hoosick Falls made the airwaves last Friday, May 11, when WGNA’s Sean and Richie Show broadcast live from the Falls Diner. HFCS Budget Passes Easily

The Hoosick Falls Central School Budget passed with 459 votes in favor and 193 votes against. The proposition for purchase of buses and vehicles passed with 464 votes in favor and 184 votes against. Greg Laurin and Laurie Gormley were re-elected to the School Board. Each will have a new 3 year term from July 1, 2012, to June 30, 2015. Laurin received 463 votes and Gormley received 487 votes.

Pet Donations
The second-graders at St. Mary’s Academy have been busy this year feeding cats and dogs in shelters. Since September the students have been visiting the website www.freekibble.com, a website launched by an 11 year old girl in Oregon who just wanted to help the shelter pets in her community. Berlin Town Board Action – No Closing Yet On Berlin Lumber

Berlin Town Supervisor Rob Jaeger was beaming after the Town Board meeting on Thursday, May 10. “We set a record,” he said, referring to the shortness of the meeting; it lasted only 30 minutes. He may have been right although there was a meeting presided over by former Supervisor Sandi Slattery that lasted around 35 minutes and most of the meetings run by Stanton Goodermote when he was Supervisor were very short. This meeting was so short that the people attending milled about the Town Hall without an idea of what to do for the next hour.

Boy Scouts from Troop 222 Petersburgh helped the Grafton Lake State Park over the weekend of May 4-6. Nine Boy Scouts, their Leaders and some family members cleaned out the woods at the Park. Grafton Lakes State Park was the site of a Scout invasion – over 200 Boy Scouts camped, cleaned and had a fun filled weekend in the Park.
